working with ai.ai

clear communication is key for building positive business relationships. at aeroimaging.ai, our aim is to provide our clients with affordable inspection solutions by utilizing the newest technologies to facilitate real-time feedback through non-destructive testing methods. for our 4K inspections and content creators, our goal is to help you see what you need to see, when you need to see it.

working with thermal imaging

most drone inspection disciplines have a very specific set of conditions to be followed:

  • roofing systems: thermal inspections can only take place 1/2 hour after sunset on a sunny day with few clouds. typically, the trapped water will remain hot enough to be detected for an hour to an hour and a half after sunset.

  • solar arrays: thermal inspections take place in the middle of a day. at solar noon (or high noon), when the sun reaches its highest position in the sky, the solar cells are at their maximum irradiance, allowing for a clear picture of any problematic panels.

  • transmission & distribution (t&d - utility lines, transformers or anything else that is involved in moving electricity from one place to another.) t&d is inspected only at night. The object of the inspection is to find failed parts (either parts not working showing cold or overheating elements showing hot.) by 1/2 hour after sunset the containers holding these parts have cooled enough to allow a thermal camera to see the hotter objects inside.

  • for our thermal inspection clients: the weather is, of course, beyond our control. we usually offer a 3-4 day window to complete an inspection. thermal roofing inspections are easier to schedule from November to March, as the weather is much more predictable. the same is true for solar array inspections, but three out of seven days during the summer there is a clear enough morning to complete an array inspection at mid-day. we keep our clients as informed as possible regarding inspection scheduling: no one has time to sit around and wait for someone to maybe show-up.

live broadcasting

save for a few inspections (where there is no cellular service) every flight is broadcast on ai.ai's private and secure YouTube channel. this allows for instant feedback regarding any issues the inspection might uncover, whether the client is viewing on-site or remotely. for our 4K inspections and content creators: this platform lets you participate in flights, in real time, ensuring that we are providing you with exactly what you need.

pricing

we are fair and transparent in our pricing, and there are never any extra fees or surprises. all flights are different, but below you will find base service prices:

  • 4K inspections / content creators: $100 for 1/2 hour of "fly & shoot" raw footage. i keep the drone in the air and filming for 1/2 hour, you get a link to download all of the content, typically same day or next day.

  • residential thermal solar array inspections: $225 for an array less than 10kw. if the system is over 10kw or has a unique, non-uniform installation, we can work out a price we're both comfortable with.

  • residential thermal roofing inspections: $275 for any home with 6 or fewer elevations. we will quote anything larger than that, but to give you a general idea: $275  for 6 elevations and $50 for every 2 elevations over 6. (If you have a roof with a 6 elevation row of valleys that will not be an extra $300 just for the valleys.)

  • other thermal imaging: (any non-inspection thermal flights that do not require editing) $200 for 1/2 hour of "fly & shoot" raw footage. i keep the drone in the air and filming for 1/2 hour, you get a link to download all of the content, typically same day or next day.

  • bespoke imaging: any project that includes both flight time and editing audio/video will be a custom quote. a very rough example of this can be seen on the Sherwood Point project: 1/2 hour of flight time and 1/2 hour to edit it together nicely (without a score) would be $300.

  • everything else: we haven't had intelligent consumer drones for very long and we are still coming up with lots of unique ways to use them. if you have an idea, if you are wondering if you can do this, that or the other with a drone, please reach out so we can come up with a solution.

  • payment is due at the time of the flight/inspection.
